Hide AdMs McGeechan said: "Laura was wonderful with the children and was very open about her own personal challenges on her journey to now twice-winning Paralympic gold medals.
"Her message of 'never give up' was prominent throughout the day and it was incredible to see our children embracing this mentality during their coaching sessions.
"I know that Laura's visit will inspire the children to keep striving towards their goals and to keep trying, even when faced with challenges.”
Having competed in Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 this summer, Laura popped into Kettering to inspire the students with her story of what success means to her.

Hide AdHeadteacher Richard Albert said: “You could hear a pin-drop in the school hall as the children listened to her inspirational story. The hall was later filled with the sounds of huffing and puffing – from the staff – as Laura led students and staff in fitness sessions tailored to becoming a strong kayaker.”
Alex Wallace, founder of the Mintridge Foundation, added: "We had an absolute blast, taking many selfies with adults, signing autographs and it was amazing to watch the children trying on not one but two Paralympic gold medals.”
