Kettering link to national appeal for help to find girl missing for more than 10 days

A teenage girl missing for more than 10 days may have travelled to Kettering, with a national missing person appeal asking residents and commuters for their help.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for the country’s help to find Aaliyah, aged 15, who was last seen in person in Windsor, where she lives, at about 1.50am on Thursday, April 16.

Aaliyah has since been seen on CCTV on Smallbrook Queensway, Birmingham, shortly before 10am that day, having got the train into Birmingham New Street station.

She is thought to have travelled by taxi to Kettering then by train to Leicester and Birmingham, but she could have gone elsewhere.

Detective Chief Inspector Tracey Smyth said: “We are appealing for the nation’s help to find Aaliyah by keeping an eye out for her and reporting any information on her whereabouts to us.

“We are extremely concerned for Aaliyah’s welfare, not least because she has been missing for more than a week but also her age and that she could have travelled anywhere after being seen on CCTV near Birmingham New Street train station.

“We are doing everything we can to find Aaliyah since she was reported missing, with support from policing and other partners, but we need the public’s support.”

Aaliyah is about 5ft 3in, of average build, with long black hair, and was last seen wearing black jeans and a black jacket with the hood up. She has links to areas across east Berkshire and Birmingham.

She has been asking people she meets on the street to use their mobile phone and officers would like anyone who has been asked to get in touch.

If you see Aaliyah or have seen her, call Thames Valley Police on 999, quoting reference number 43260183769.

Anyone with information about Aaliyah's whereabouts can report it on the Thames Valley Police website, quoting the same reference number.
