In an email to customers, Odeon said: "Following government guidelines, Odeon cinemas are closed until further notice.

"We are refunding all advanced ticket purchases, please allow up to five working days for the refund to reach your bank account. If you have collected your ticket from the cinema, you will need to go into the cinema once we re-open for the team to process your refund.

"If you have any further questions, please contact our guest services centre.

"We look forward to welcoming you back soon."

Anyone who tries to book a ticket to a film at the Kettering cinema today is met with a message that says: "We are sorry but this performance is no longer active/available."
