Kettering butcher, pub and community centre come together to dish out donations for Christmas dinner

A ‘rushed idea’ in the pub has flourished into spreading festive joy on a Kettering estate.

In the spirit of Christmas and community, The Mikado Pheasant, Highfield Barnes Community Centre and Jamie's Quality Butchers teamed up this week to give some people in the community a little boost for their Christmas Dinner.

The organisers told the Northants Telegraph: “What started as a rushed idea over a pint in the pub flourished into a lovely day of giving to the Highfield community.

"We were able to hand out 20 parcels, including the essentials and a sweet treat for a Christmas roast.

"We are so grateful to Jamie for his generous donation towards these hampers and thank him so much for giving up his time also at his busiest time of the year.

"A huge thank you to Kelly Mercer also for helping to co-ordinate and getting this Christmas treat sorted and handed out in time for the big day.”
