Kettering-based wood turners club celebrates its 10th anniversary
A group which started out with just five people now has more than 40 members and is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
A decade has passed since the Ise and Nene Valley Turners were established so founding members joined with other club members to mark the milestone.
A group spokesman said: “Ten years ago, a group of five enthusiastic wood turners formed the Ise and Nene Valley Turners, a club where like minded people could meet to exchange ideas and develop their skills.
"Thanks to financial help from Kettering Town Council, the club thrived in its first year and has continued to grow ever since.

"To mark its tenth anniversary, the five founding members were joined by the mayor, Cllr Ben Jameson, and 40 other club members at Cranford Village Hall, the club’s regular meeting place for a celebration and birthday cake.”
And the spokesman added: “The council was instrumental in helping us to set up in the beginning, for which we shall always very grateful.”
