Kettering bakery marks first year at The Yards with Christmas giveaway celebration

A Kettering bakery has marked its first year at The Yards shopping area with a Christmas giveaway celebration.

Eunice Artisan Bakery, which sells bread, baked goodies and cakes, started off as a market stall in Kettering town centre before moving into new premises last December.

A year on, shop owners, Kettering couple Kate and Kris Oslizok, were joined by customers, the mayor of Kettering and Santa to celebrate a year at the location off Market Street.

Kate said: “We have had so much support from regular customers. People come from Kettering but also Wellingborough, Thrapston and Corby. The business has grown through word of mouth. We are open more often than when we had the market stall. Inside is warm too!”

Specialising in Polish breads and baked goods, Kris has been working on recipes for their range of pastries, doughnuts, croissants, pies and sandwiches with Kate running the shop.

Adding his support to the shop was mayor of Kettering, Cllr Ben Jameson, marking Small Business Saturday.

He said: “I’m here to recognise this independent local business, especially on Small Business Saturday we know that there are fantastic independent businesses in our town. It’s a privilege to celebrate with them.”

The shop opens three days a week – Tuesday 9am to 3pm, Thursday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.

One lucky customer won a year’s supply of freshly baked bread in the free prize draw.
