Raunds Town Council is providing isolation care packs for its older residents.

As people are being urged to stay at home to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, the town council is aware that many of its older residents will be finding the current situation particularly difficult.

Cllr Lee Wilkes said: "We know from the more than 150 residents who regularly attend our film and coffee afternoons how important these occasions are to keep our residents connected.

"Whilst we obviously can't hold these events at the current time we want our residents to know that we are thinking of them and provide them with information and a little light relief to help them through this difficult time."

The isolation care packs include information leaflets with details of useful contacts, short stories, word puzzles and adult colouring as well as toilet roll and a few sweet treats.

There are still a few packs available so anyone who would like one, or who has an older family member who would appreciate this, can call 01933 622087 (you can leave an answerphone message out of hours) and the pack will be delivered.

The delivery driver will knock and the pack will then be left on the doorstep.

The deliverer will not directly hand the pack to the resident.
