"Tom was a true gentleman, a man of immense integrity and we will all miss him greatly."

Cllr Lloyd, a Conservative, was elected as Irchester's ward councillor in May 2015 with 1066 votes.

He sat on many committees and was vice-chairman of the partnerships and performance committee.

Wellingborough Council said the flags outside Swanspool House will be flown at half-mast until sunset on the day of Cllr Lloyd's funeral, which will be held at Nene Valley Crematorium at 2pm on Thursday, April 30.

Only Cllr Lloyd's immediate family will be attending the service.
