Internet and phone lines have been wiped out in parts of Burton Latimer after a car crashed into a broadband box.

The mangled box on Higham Road has left surrounding houses without internet and all contact with Burton Latimer GP surgery has been affected, with patients queuing to make appointments yesterday (Monday).

In a statement on its website, Burton Latimer GP surgery said: "We are aware of the current problems with phone and internet lines into the surgery.

"We are open and among other things dealing with repeat prescriptions which will be sent to the pharmacy in the usual way, however please do not come to the surgery unless absolutely necessary.

"Please contact your local Pharmacists, call 111 or Corby Urgent Care (01536 202121) if you require urgent treatment."

Residents say they have no idea when the issue is likely to be fixed.

BT have been contacted for comment.
