This newspaper has partnered with the Irchester-based Animals in Need charity to help find their rescue dogs loving homes.
Charity boss Annie Marriott said: "When people adopt a rescue, they save two dogs: the one they bring home and the one that gets the empty kennel. Their lives often depend on it. All our dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, parasite-treated, and come with four weeks of free insurance, a session with dog behaviourist Nathan Watson, and rescue support for their entire lives.
"If you're interested in welcoming one of our dogs into your home, please email [email protected]. We always conduct a home check and cannot rehome dogs to families with children under five years."
Please visit the Animals in Need website to check the full adoption guidelines and rules around rehoming a rescue dog.
Below are the latest dogs needing rehoming this week, with descriptions provided by Annie.

13. Bill
Bill is a handsome lurcher, around six years old. He is looking for a pet-free home and needs someone who will take him for walks where he won’t encounter livestock. He cannot be let off-lead. A comfy sofa is essential for this lovely lad. Photo: AIN

14. Piper
Piper is a handsome nine-year-old Husky cross. He was adopted from us and spent five happy years with his family, but sadly, due to circumstances, he is now back with us. He is a big, affectionate bundle of love who needs a home with no other animals. Piper would thrive in an active household with older children, where he can enjoy fun days out. He is housetrained and knows basic commands, though he is strong on the lead. Photo: AIN

15. Ronnie and Reggie
Handsome brothers, Ronnie and Reggie, are looking for a Bulldog-experienced home where they can stay together. They are super-friendly and get along well with other dogs. However, they are not used to cats, so they would prefer a home without them. They travel well and are housetrained. Both brothers, but particularly Reggie, have a few health issues typical of the breed. These will require ongoing treatment over the coming months, so their new family will need to be committed to attending vet appointments and providing any additional care necessary during their recovery from surgery. The kennel team is happy to discuss these health needs in more detail with any potential adopters. Ronnie and Reggie are a lovely pair who will bring a lot of joy to their new family! Photo: AIN

16. Maple
Maple is a two-year-old loyal Boxerdor who came to us from a council pound. She’s full of fun and has so much love to give! Maple moved to foster care because kennels were too stressful for her, and she has since been living with seven other rescue dogs. Her ideal home would be with another confident, friendly, neutered dog to play with, and possibly older children. While Maple loves everyone, she is quite boisterous! She is clean in the house, knows basic commands, and has good recall with her chosen person. Used to home comforts, she would prefer a home where she is allowed on the furniture—and even on her human’s bed! Maple travels well but does get anxious when getting into the car and needs encouragement. Maple loves toys, chews, and is very food-motivated, making it easy to get her attention. She is currently on hypoallergenic food, which suits her well. She has been cat-tested and isn’t bothered by them; she just wants their toys! It would be ideal for Maple to attend training classes to keep her mind focused. Photo: AIN
