HMV stores to shut from end of Sunday
The shops will close temporarily
HMV has emailed its customers to let them know its shops will be temporarily closed from the end of today (Sunday).
In the email to customers, the music and entertainment chain said: "We have kept our shops open as long as possible because we know how much entertainment can support people during difficult times.
"However, due to the unfolding situation with Coronavirus, we're very sad to have to let you know we'll be temporarily closing our stores for trade from the end of the day today, Sunday, March 22."
HMV has a shop in Kettering.
HMV said customers can still shop online and have orders delivered to their homes.
The shop closure is the latest in a series of announcements as chains seek to protect their staff and customers from Covid-19 and support the government's social distancing guidelines.
The government is advising everyone to avoid non-essential movement and contact with others and stay home where possible.
HMV said: "We look forward to welcoming you back into our stores in the future and would like to thank you for your ongoing support.
"Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this unprecedented situation."
