Higham Ferrers chippy named Northamptonshire’s Chippy of the Year on shop’s 10th anniversary
Georgia’s Fish Bar in Higham Ferrers has been given the prestigious E2 Media Award of Excellence accolade in 2026, granting the business the title of Northamptonshire’s Chippy of the Year.
The chip shop in Westfield Terrace, Higham Ferrers, has been feeding hungry locals for almost 10 years, and has been recognised for its food options, and service.
Bosses at the popular food spot are ‘incredibly proud’ of the achievement.
Erdem Bikim of Georgia’s Fish Bar said: “Receiving this recognition is a real honour, and we are incredibly proud to have been selected for this award.
“A huge thank you to all our amazing customers for your continued support over the years. Whether you’ve been with us since day one or only recently discovered us, your loyalty, recommendations, kind words, and custom mean everything to us.

The award comes in the family-run fish bar’s 10th year in operation, having opened its doors in Higham Ferrers on September 1, 2016.
The E2 Media Award for Excellence is an accolade given to businesses that show ‘excellence, innovation, and resilience in the face of adversity’. Georgia’s also scooped up the prize for ‘Best Fish & Chips’ at the 2025 England’s Business Awards, and is hoping to make it a trio of triumphs, as the business is currently a finalist in the Northants Life Awards 2026 in the Best Takeaway category, with the results due to be announced next month.
