Here's why the police helicopter was flying over Kettering town centre
The reason why a police helicopter was flying over Kettering town centre has been revealed as a man hunt following an alleged burglary.
Residents heard and spotted the chopper hovering over the terraced streets between Rockingham Road and Bath Road on Monday evening (December 29) approximately between 6pm and 7pm.
With support from the police helicopter, officers on the ground, including some believed to be armed, were seen in Wellington Street between the Regent Street and King Street junctions.
A spokesman for Northants Police said: “This was in relation to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a burglary in Margaret Road, Kettering, which took place back in June.”
The man has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
