Here's when Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough and Rushden tips will be open during the Christmas period
Four waste recycling centres will be closed during Christmas, with normal service resumed in the new year.
The Kettering and Rushden centres, which are usually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, will remain closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and into the weekend, with service resuming on New Year’s Eve (December 31).
Wellingborough and Corby centres will be open as usual from 10am until 6pm on December 29 and 30 before closing on their scheduled days on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and opening again on January 2, operating regular hours from then onwards.
All centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
A North Northants Council spokesman said: “Over Christmas and New Year, the centres are expected to be very busy with long queues.
“To help everyone, please pre-sort your waste and recycling before leaving home and do not arrive before the site opens or block the local highway (as this causes delays on site and disruptions on the surrounding roads).”
