Mrs Tirebuck said she was overwhelmed with all the fuss made of her.

She said: "Considering my mother was told by the doctor - when I was born weighing four-and-a-half pounds - 'You wouldn't see her grow up', how wrong he was."

Margaret, who celebrated her birthday on June 7, has three children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
