Go loud, go proud, go orange in memory of 'the boy who united Kettering' Sebastian Nunney

A fundraising event in memory of Sebastian Nunney, who lost his cancer battle at the age of just six, will return again this Friday (March 13).

Orange Day returns for 2026 on the day before Sebastian’s ninth birthday to continue the legacy of fundraising in his memory.

Team Sebastian are inviting people to ‘go loud, go proud, and go orange’ tomorrow (Friday, March 13) to support Youth Works Northamptonshire and their Sebastian’s Support Service.

School, businesses, clubs and individuals in Northamptonshire and beyond are invited to participate by wearing something orange – Sebastian’s favourite colour - in his memory.

But dressing in orange is not mandatory as you could wear an orange accessory, display an orange poster in your window, organise a bake sale, host a karaoke competition or take part in another creative activity of your choice.

Team Sebastian said: “We understand that many other events are happening.

"If you can’t participate on the 13th, we will keep the fundraising channels open for an entire four weeks, allowing ample time for involvement.

"All funds raised will directly benefit young people in our local community.”

Sebastian was just three when he was diagnosed with the rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma and sadly lost his battle in January 2024.

Thousands of pounds have been raised in his memory, including £1,500 for Youth Works from the Kettering half marathon and 5K event just last weekend.

When Sebastian switched on Kettering’s Christmas Lights in 2023, he was described by the mayor as ‘the boy who united Kettering’ and no doubt the people of Kettering and beyond will come together once again this week and show their support for Orange Day.
