Students and staff at Weavers Academy are celebrating as both A-level and GCSE results have been confirmed.

The school is pleased to report significant improvements at both GCSE and A-level since 2019.

A-level results place the school in the top 10 per cent of schools offering post-16 studies.

More than 80 per cent of students achieved their minimum expected grade with 55 per cent achieving the highest grades of B or better.

The school is also pleased to celebrate that more than 90 per cent of students secured a place at their chosen university.

Results at GCSE have further improved when compared to the previous year.

55 per cent of pupils achieved a grade 4 or better and more than one third secured a grade 5 or better in at least 5 GCSEs including English and mathematics.

Weaver’s Academy, a member of Creative Education Trust, also achieved at GCSE:

- More than 60 per cent of students achieved a standard pass in both English and mathematics

- Almost three quarters of students achieved a “standard pass” or better in the majority of subjects

In addition to strong overall results, a number of individual success stories deserve special mention:

- A-level successes include Chelsea Bingham who achieved 2As and 2 Bs and is going to Leicester University to study medicine

- Daniel Johnston gained 4A* and 1A and is progressing to Durham University to study engineering and Connor Kirby secured 4A* and will study cancer studies at Nottingham University

GCSE successes include the following students who gained strong passes in all their subjects: Mae Campbell; Rosie Clarke; Jonny Gannon; Unique Holland; Aleksa Indene;

Lee Johnston; Maisie Kilpin; Emily Leach; Nancy McGowan; Caitlin Parish; Kaydene Davidson-Sharpe; Grace Spence; Lauren Sweetman; Charly Thompson; Joshua Tuzzeo; Rosalee Welsh and Naomi Worrell.

After an unprecedented and difficult year in which schools were closed and public examinations did not take place, Weaver’s Academy has congratulated every pupil for their tenacity in completing the necessary requirements of their courses of study.
