Funeral director's Corby Male Voice Choir concert to raise cash for Lakelands

A former Corby church that is now home to a funeral director is the venue for a charity concert.

Family-run funeral directors Averil Phillips & Family have organised an early autumn concert to bring the community together and raise vital funds for Lakelands Hospice in Butland Road, Corby.

The concert by Corby Male Voice Choir is set to take place at 7.30pm on Friday (September 18) at St Andrew’s Church in Occupation Road, which was previously run by the Church of Scotland but is now a secular funeral venue.

Lakelands day care hospital provides invaluable care and support to people with cancer and their families across the whole area.

Community involvement has always been at the heart of the independent family business.

Averil Phillips said: “We wanted to organise an enjoyable evening that would bring local people together while supporting a genuinely worthwhile cause. Lakelands Hospice does so much for families in our community, and we hope the concert will raise both funds and awareness for its important work.”

Tickets, priced at £10, will be available on the door, and everyone is warmly invited to enjoy the music while supporting a much-loved local charity.
