The seasonal event has been organised by Lisa Percival and Paul Warren from Paws Dog Training with sponsorship and help from Joe and Natalie from Jurassic Grill restaurant.

Lisa said: "We thought of the idea last year, lots of people were trying to go to pumpkin patches but some were £8 per person and a lot of places were sold out.

"It's a lot of money for a family and we thought that's ridiculous, you can buy 20 pumpkins for that."

Lisa and Paul bought 40 pumpkins to create their own pumpkin patch last year and they had a lot of interest, but they were disappointed when their patch was smashed by some teens.

This year, they decided to go even bigger and are sticking around to man the area to make sure people can enjoy the patch.

Lisa said: "We got 200 pumpkins donated by Jurassic Grill and Joe and Natalie came to help set it up. Tesco donated sweets."

If you go to the pumpkin patch, there are packets of sweets with every pumpkin.

The event is outdoors, making it suitable for this year's restrictions amid the pandemic. Lisa and Paul are hoping that next year they'll be able to host an even bigger event safely.

Posting on Facebook, Paws Dog Training said: "Well, 2020 didn’t get off to a great start, did it?

"Today we have found a wild pumpkin patch in the woods at Ise lodge. Rather than keep it to ourselves we want you all to enjoy it.

"Let’s come together and show kindness, love, creativity and fun for those that missed out on a pumpkin picking experience this year - come and get one for yourselves, don’t forget to wear suitable footwear.

"Discovered by Paul and Lisa at Paws Dog Training and Joe, Nat and family at Jurassic grill thanks also to Oliver & Lucy for spotting the pumpkins too."

The patch is located in woodland along the River Ise just off Deeble Road.
