Disco is making a comeback in North Northants as monthly social events are scheduled to take place with music through the evening.

Night Fever is taking over the town for adults with autism and learning difficulties, as The Cordwainer in Kettering and Windmill Club in Rushden will play host to these events courtesy of DFR Entertainment.

Plans are afoot to keep the nights going through into 2023, with DFR Entertainment hoping that the Kettering and Rushden venues will be available for use moving forward, depending on the demand for nights like these.

Both cost £5 to attend and carers will be granted free entry on the night.

According to the British Medical Association it is estimated that approximately 700,000 people in the UK have a formal diagnosis of autism.

Events like this help to give people of all backgrounds and personalities the chance to enjoy a night with like-minded people, and Ste Rainford of Night Fever Northants said it’s an opportunity for adults with learning disabilities ‘to socialise, have fun, and have a dance’ to a smattering of disco tunes and popular songs, predominantly from the 70s and 80s.
