Follow Wellingborough lad Frankie's 496km journey as he aims to run over 300 miles for epilepsy charity this month
Frankie McCormack from Wellingborough has taken on the brutal challenge of running 496km in one month in support of the Epilepsy Society.
The near-500km distance, which is equivalent to 308.2 miles, is completed over the course of a month, with the first day requiring a one-kilometre run, the second a two-kilometre run, all the way up to 31km on January 31.
Frankie has chosen Epilepsy Society as the charity benefitting from his efforts as it’s an organisation he holds dear as he himself is affected by the condition.
Now on day 28, meaning 28 kilometres (17.4 miles) must be covered by midnight tonight, Frankie admitted to being ‘very very tired all the time.’

He said: “I decided to do it because I thought I like doing things for charity and I thought it would be a good challenge for me.
“I’ve never claimed to be a good runner, but I like to give myself challenges so I’ve put myself into this position and I’m still going.
"I’m drained, but I’ve had a lot of support from my family and everyone, which has really motivated me to keep going.”
Epilepsy Society is a national charity that supports those living with epilepsy, as well as those around them by offering care services, engaging in research and lobbying for more government support for those living with the condition.
After an initial goal of £500, his efforts have been rewarded as yesterday (January 27) he crossed the £1,000 milestone, which he said has been ‘completely and utterly overwhelming.’
Frankie added: "I didn’t even think I would get to £500, so the fact that I hit £500 and then woke up this morning to £1,000 was beyond me. I was completely amazed.
"The support from everyone has been unreal. I can’t comprehend it fully.”
