Firefighters came to the rescue after a toddler got a potty stuck on his head.

A worried mum ran out of ideas after her 2½-year-old managed to get the potty jammed on Monday afternoon — so called in help from Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue.

They quickly despatched a crew from Moulton and dismantled the offending potty, with the child none the worse for their ordeal.

A Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said: “The nature of our work in the Fire Service is to respond to a huge variety of different incidents including major events such as fires and water rescues — but also sometimes the smaller scale domestic emergencies, including when people become trapped in some way.

"We are always ready to support parents and all other members of the community during emergency situations.”
