Fifteen Kettering roles up for grabs for people who want a hands-on, practical career

Fifteen jobs are on offer for people who enjoy working with their hands.

The new jobs are at Cumberland Platforms Limited, which specialises in the installation of vehicle-mounted access platforms, based at Telford Way in Kettering

Business has boomed at the firm during the past few years and the firm has grown to become the UK market leader. Now fifteen new trainee mechanical / electrical assemblers are needed to help the firm fill its growing order book.

Red Recruitment, based in Corby, has been charged with filling the roles. Commercial director Mark McAllister said: "These are trainee roles and all training will be provided but we'd really like to find people who are good with their hands who enjoy fixing things. Maybe they enjoy fixing their car or can show a mechanical aptitude.

"Anyone over 18 who wants to forge a career and wants something a bit different from warehouse or manufacturing jobs can apply."

Mark said that, despite the pandemic, businesses continue to be attracted to North Northants because of its large, able and varied workforce.

"We've been open a year now and it was a risk opening our doors at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic," said Mark, "but we're now in a position where we're providing staff for more than 25 companies across Corby, Kettering and Market Harborough.

"Business is really buoyant in Kettering and Corby. We're taking on more clients every day and we've got a range of opportunities on offer for all types of people. Despite this being a difficult time for many businesses, it doesn't really seem to be the case in this area.

"We're also recruiting for numerous warehouse, food production and packing operatives and forklift truck driver roles throughout Northants."

Red Recruitment will hold open days this Saturday (June 5) and next Saturday (June 12) to recruit for the new trainee roles as well as other positions on offer across Corby and Kettering.
