'Difficult' decision as Rushden Lakes restaurant closes its doors
A chain restaurant in Rushden Lakes’ leisure terrace has closed its doors for good.
TGI Fridays closed its restaurant at the popular retail and leisure development at the end of last week.
A sign in the window of the unit reads: “We regret to inform you that TGI Fridays has made the difficult decision to close our doors at Rushden Lakes restaurant effective Friday 10th July 2026.
"We are extremely grateful to our loyal guests and our team members at our Rushden Lakes restaurant.
"We can’t wait to welcome you at our nearby location: TGI Fridays, Milton Keynes Theatre, 4 Savoy Crescent, MK9 3PN.”
The Northants Telegraph has asked both TGI Fridays and Rushden Lakes for comment.
More than 30 TGI Fridays closed less than two years ago, including the branch at Sixfields in Northampton which permanently closed in October 2024.
A further 16 sites closed in January after the company’s UK arm fell into administration and was acquired in a rescue deal.
