Detectives renew appeal to find Matthew Purves who is linked to Corby and Spain

Detectives from Northamptonshire Police have renewed their appeal for information to help find 41-year-old Matthew Purves who has links to Corby.

The local appeal comes days after Purves was put on the National Crime Agency’s new list of the 12 most wanted men who are linked to Spain.

Purves is believed to be linked to a notorious Corby encrochat drug gang headed-up by Scott Stirling, who is currently at the end of a 12-year prison term imposed after he flooded Northamptonshire with cocaine.

With links to Corby, Peterborough and Spain, Purves is wanted in connection with an allegation of supplying Class A drugs across the UK between November 2019 and February 2021.

Last week, the fugitive alleged cocaine dealer was named on a 'most wanted' list by the National Crime Agency.

A spokesman for Northants Police said: “The alleged offence is part of an investigation which has already seen 11 members of a Corby-based organised crime gang jailed for more than 67 years for their roles in the conspiracy to supply cocaine. “Purves is also wanted on recall to prison.

“Anyone who has seen Purves or who knows of his whereabouts, can call police on 101 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
