Desborough road closed after e-scooter crash as emergency services on scene
Emergency services have been called to the scene of a collision between an e-scooter and a car in Rothwell Road Desborough today (Monday, December 8).
The incident took place close to the Pioneer Avenue junction of Rothwell Road in Desborough.
Northants Police have closed the road between Thetford Road/Fallow Road in Rothwell and Federation Avenue Desborough.
A spokeswoman for Northants Police said: “Shortly before 8.20am this morning, we received a report of a collision between the driver of a car and the rider of an e-scooter on the B576 in Rothwell, near to the traffic light junction.
“As a result of the impact, the rider of the scooter has been taken to hospital.
“The B576 road was closed at the traffic light junction with Thetford Road, Rothwell.”
Witnesses at the scene have reported seeing an air ambulance attend the incident.
Buses between Desborough and Rothwell town centres are being diverted to the A6.
