Mr Webber has had a career authoring textbooks, but said he always felt there was a novel in him.

Having lived and worked in Finland he became interested in, and thoroughly researched, the country’s role in the Second World War.

The novel has turned into a series based on some of the more obscure aspects of the period.

It follows spy Alex Carlton who is recruited to go undercover in Finland to gain insight into the country's intentions as the storm clouds of war gather over Europe.

As he progresses through training and prepares for his mission, Alex’s life becomes complicated by love and intrigue that nearly derails his assignment…and that would upset Winston Churchill himself.

The Desborough author said: "It’s been a long time in the making, but now my first novel has been published I am excited that it is finally there.

"Now for the next one.”
