Dates for road closures across north Northants in June announced as 'surface dressing' repairs set to take place in Rushden, Finedon, Wellingborough and more
As part of the efforts to fix the issues caused by the cold winter months, the dates have been announced for several closures in north Northamptonshire, as well as where they will take place.
Between June 17 and June 28, closures will be in effect to allow for ‘surface dressing’ repairs to take place, which is a cost-effective process whereby roads with minor issues can be improved using a mixture of polymer bitumen emulsion and a layer of chippings.
A Kier spokesman said: “Unavoidably, there will be some disruption during the work, but we aim to minimise this wherever possible.
"We work with the utility companies that provide gas, electricity, telephone, and cable services to ensure we coordinate and manage our activities to cause as little disruption as possible.
"We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Your cooperation means we will achieve the best results and can really make a difference in your area.”
The closures, which are all expected to take place in June, are as follows:
Rushton - The A6003 from the Hamburger roundabout to Glendon Hall/Glendon Road Junction will be closed from June 17 until July 12.
Finedon – Station Road to Avenue Road will be closed for one day on June 20
Wellingborough – The full length of Ditchford Lane will also be closed for one day on June 20.
Wilby – Cut Throat Lane will be close on June 23.
Isham – A509 Kettering Road between Finedon Station Road and the Niort Way roundabout will be closed on June 28.
Wellingborough – The A509 Wilby Way from Sainsbury's roundabout to the A45 will be closed on June 21.
Irchester – Gipsy Lane, from the A509 roundabout to Wollaston Road, will also be closed on June 21.
Rushden – The A6 between the Newton Road roundabout and John Clarke Way roundabout will be closed on June 22.
Pytchley – Surface dressing work will take place on Orlingbury Road between the Broughton turn to Pytchley on June 19.
Yarwell – Wansford Road from the county boundary to Suleyhay Road will be closed on June 17.
