Curiouser and curiouser! Take a trip down the rabbit hole to Kitty's crazy cafe and restaurant

Kitty's Kitchen and Cake Emporium opens in Corby Old Village next week

Life in Corby just got curiouser and curiouser for anyone wanting a tea party - Mad Hatter style, or anyone who would like to see six impossible things before breakfast.

Kitty Mulvaney is making final preparations at her eponymously named Kitty's Kitchen and Cake Emporium in High Street in Corby Old Village for next week's opening event.

The 37-year-old chef and mum of three has been putting the finishing touches to the amazing Alice In Wonderland inspired interior of the restuarant and tea room. She said: "The decor is Alice In Wonderland meets tentacles. Ever since I was little I have wanted to have an Alice themed restaurant.

"We're going to be open for breakfast for the communters through to lunches, tea and then dinner."

Kitty has been working in catering since she was 12, starting with making salads and washing up, working her way to a chef and owner of a fleet of festival catering outlets.

As the festival calendar was obliterated due to Covid, Kitty seized the opportunity to open her dream restaurant.

She said: "We're offering 100 flavours of tea and 30 flavours of hot chocolate as well as coffee. We're only going to sell delicious stuff. No sweeteners - all real food, cooked fresh.

"There will be a world menu, teapot cocktails, cream teas, breakfasts with square sausage and tatty scones, and we're opening six-days-a-week.

Kitty's Kitchen and Cake Emporium grand opening night is on Thursday, October 29, when there will be fire eating Mad Hatter and a visit by the Red Queen.
