Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) has said the confirmed Coronavirus case in a member of staff as a Desborough care home is "low risk".

Yesterday (Wednesday), Heather Holmes care home in Desborough confirmed a member of staff had tested positive for the virus. Today, NCC said: "Our social care and public health teams are working with partners to provide appropriate support.

"We are looking at next steps to see what further support can be provided.

"The case is considered to be low risk."

Heather Holmes provides accommodation for adults with learning difficulties and those with physical disabilities and mobility issues.

The care home in Rushton Road has 11 bedrooms and one self-contained flat.

Public Health England said yesterday it would not be commenting further.
