A Corby theatre is set to re-open after Christmas with a new table seating format to allow for members of household bubbles to enjoy performances for a Covid-secure night out.

The Core at Corby Cube will reopen in February, after almost a year of closure, to launch their spring season promising to suit all theatre-goers.

A Core spokesman said: "The venue cannot wait to spring back into action with a spectacular season of events containing something for all ages and tastes.

"The team at The Core have worked tirelessly to make sure that audiences, staff and artists are kept Covid safe during performances.

"The venue holds a See It Safely license, issued by UK Theatre and SOLT to organisations that keep the highest standard of Covid safety practices.

"The auditorium will also look slightly different, with many performances now in a new cabaret seating format, allowing you to book a table for a premium experience with your bubble, including table service and early entry.

Family entertainment includes the children’s comedy show Spontaneous Potter Kidz and stand-up for the whole family with Comedy Club 4 Kids.

The highlight of the drama programme for the spring is the 'intense, frightening and visceral' Medea Electronica which retells the classic story of Medea - a chilling tragedy, told originally by Euripides in 431BC and best known for its savage act of infanticide by a mother in revenge for her husband’s adultery.

Using a gig-theatre fomat the show tells the classic amidst a live synth gig - an all original mash up of contemporary electronica and 80s inspired progressive rock.
