Corby's Pride in Place to hold its first community event tomorrow

A £20m scheme to improve the heart of the Corby community is holding its first event.

Pride in Place Corby is an initiative to spend £20m of government money across Corby’s Kingswood, Exeter, Hazel Leys and Beanfield estates.

The ten year scheme is targeted at improving lives for people living on those estates, which have been historically neglected.

Led by Kingswood Secondary Academy teacher Alex Bonner, a board of local people will help spend the cash in the right places.

Tomorrow (Saturday, October 17) a launch event will take place at the school between 12noon and 3pm.

It will be a chance for local people to share their ideas focused on healthcare, community and education.

At the event will be pizza, ice cream, inflatables, games and music.

Anyone wanting to get involved can just turn up on the day. For more information, [email protected] or call/text 07483454529.
