Mr Sloan had been appointed in February 2019 at the school during one of the most turbulent periods in its history.Robert Sloan said: “Since being appointed as executive principal I have been delighted by the progress made in teaching, student behaviour, pastoral support and culture at Lodge Park.

"The stability and improvement in the teaching staff, as well as the strong sense of community we have developed means that the students at the academy are having an excellent experience, which will no doubt continue to improve over the coming years.

“With Mrs Waterman now well-established in her role as academy principal, along with the really strong senior leadership team in place, this summer feels like an appropriate time to move on to my next role.

"I know how closely he has worked with principal Carly Waterman and the leadership team at Lodge Park Academy to transform the school, and it has been a pleasure to observe and support them all.
