"Our teams are now working to move the dates of all shows and events scheduled between now and then, with all participatory and community activity within the building also being postponed.

"We will be in contact with all ticket holders directly to explain the position regarding their tickets. Please do not call or email us at this time as our Ticket Office team is extremely busy.

"We are endeavouring to find new dates for all shows later in the year and into Spring 2021.

"Tickets already purchased will automatically be valid for these future performances.

"Customers who have tickets for a performance that we are unable to reschedule will automatically be issued with a credit note/gift voucher to the value of the tickets purchased.

"If customers are unable to attend on a rescheduled date or prefer a full refund, our Ticket Office will make the necessary arrangements.

"We will be regularly updating a newly created page on our website with details of all shows that fall into this time of closure."

The closure comes as the theatre was preparing to celebrate its tenth birthday.

Mr Flavin and Ms Gordon added: "We are due to celebrate our tenth anniversary this year – quite a milestone for our charity, of which we are very proud.

"There is no doubt, however, that COVID-19 will have a huge impact on what our next ten years might look like.

"We understand that many of our audiences are juggling difficult personal circumstances themselves, but we would be incredibly grateful if they might consider making a small donation when the Ticket Office contact them to arrange their transfer of tickets or refund.

"It can alternatively be done on our website.

"We are determined to work through the challenges of coming weeks and months and look forward to welcoming you back through our doors once normality resumes."

As yet, the closure of The Core does not affect the rest of the Cube which houses Corby council services and Corby Library.
