Corby school bubble self-isolating after Covid-19 case

A school in Corby is the latest in a growing list of educational establishments to confirm it is affected by a positive Covid-19 test.

Danesholme Infant Academy has confirmed that all the members of one protective bubble were self-isolating.

A spokesman for the academy said: “The health and safety of our pupils, staff and wider school community is of the utmost importance which is why, after a positive case of Covid-19 was confirmed, we acted immediately and worked closely alongside Public Health England and Public Health Northamptonshire to ensure the necessary steps and precautions were taken.

“As a result, one bubble is now self-isolating as a precautionary measure. Our contact tracing and robust health and safety and hygiene measures have allowed us to effectively respond to this case and ensure the school continues to be safe for all other pupils and staff.

“We will be in regular contact with pupils, parents and staff to provide remote learning assistance, reassurance and up-to-date information and encourage anyone with concerns to contact the academy directly so that we can provide the necessary support."
