Corby football fans' England-Scotland Euros big match photo special

Down The Evs opposing fans cheered and sang in the good-natured encounter

It was dubbed the Battle of Britain - Scotland taking on their auld rivals England in one of the most anticipated games of Euro 2020.

At The Evs, The Everard Arms in Cottingham Road, Corby, even the landlord and lady's allegiances were split between the two teams.

The Tartan Army in one bar, complete with bagpiper and drummer, were in fine voice supporting their side with rousing renditions of Flower of Scotland.

In the other bar, mostly England supporters, first bristling with confidence became more subdued as the frustrating match played out.

Rain didn't dampen spirits in the beer garden, as half time allowed the skirl of the pipes to once more enthuse the Scotland crowd in an outdoor concert.

Missed chances on both sides led to a frustrating match - Scotland's back five holding strong and impenetrable with England's starry side lacklustre.

Passion and pride in both camps was strong but the Evs was united by a love of football and possibly some of the worst hangovers in a while.
