Bin collections across Corby and Kettering have fallen victim to the weather as side streets and some main town roads remain trecherous.

The refuse and recycling collection run as a joint operation by Corby and Kettering councils operate a shared service providing a weekly kerbside collection service for food waste and an alternate weekly kerbside collection of household waste, recycling and garden waste.

A spokesman for the service said: "Due to the current adverse weather conditions, we have suspended bin collections for today.

"If your bins have not been collected, please leave them out so that they can be collected when it is safe to do so.

"Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."

Earlier in the day the refuse and recycling team had been operating a limited service for general waste - black bin - and recycling - brown/blue bin.
