The local plan will provide planning policies to guide future development in Kettering Borough and will allocate land for different uses, such as housing, employment, retail, leisure and community facilities.

It will also contain policies relating to specific areas such as Rothwell, Desborough and Burton Latimer towns centres.

James Wilson, interim head of development services, said: "The Part 2 Local Plan makes allocations for housing, employment and green spaces in our towns and villages, contributing to policies advocating development in the Joint Core Strategy."

The Joint Core Strategy already covers the whole of North Northamptonshire, while the Part 2 Local Plan covers Kettering borough.
