Car crashes into Kettering home and bursts into flames

Residents in Rockingham Road in Kettering have spoken about the moment a car crashed into a neighbour's house and burst into flames.

Eyewitness Sarah Frankham was sitting at home this evening (Monday, April 27) watching the television when she noticed smoke through the window.

She said: "Just after six I was watching the news and saw big black smoke, so I went outside.

"A car had crashed into the garden wall of a neighbour and burst into flames.

"I understand that the car crashed through the roundabout and into a garden wall.

"Thankfully, the people came out of the house straight away and police and fire arrived very quickly."

The accident happened in Rockingham Road, near to the roundabout junction with Pennine Way and Bramshill Avenue.

Ms Frankham added: "It was scary, we thought the car might explode."

Nobody at Northamptonshire Police could be reached for comment.
