They decided to donate the much-needed funds as a 'commitment to the local community this festive season'.

Office manager Jenny Hodson said: “The Trussell Trust helps food banks across the UK, and we wanted to our bit to help people who are having a tough time this Christmas.

"Most of our staff live locally, and it’s important that we play a part in supporting the town.”

Trussell Trust food banks partner with a wide range of care professionals to identify people in crisis and give them a food bank voucher to access emergency food.

The trust supports a nationwide network of 1,200 food banks to provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty.

It also campaigns for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
