Cannabis ditched in Corby during police pursuit

A motorist and his passenger have been arrested in Corby after police followed their car, from which a large bag containing cannabis was thrown.

Members of the Northants Road Crime Team had been in pursuit of a Renault Clio when the drugs in a bag were jettisoned in Viking Way on the Danesholme estate.

The bag containing the drugs was recovered and two men were arrested yesterday (Sunday).

A spokesman for Northants Police said: "This happened in Viking Way, Corby, at about 10.40am, when the drugs were thrown out of a red Renault Clio. Two 21-year-old men were arrested and have since been released on bail pending further enquiries."
