A Corby man with special needs who posted a video of himself performing Michael Flatley’s ‘Lord Of The Dance’ lockdown routine has received a shout out on Twitter from the world-famous dancer.

Campbell McBride – who is a service user at local charity Teamwork Trust – has been a huge fan of the Irish-American choreographer since he was little, and was over the moon when he saw Michael’s response on social media.

The tweet, which came from the official @MichaelFlatley account, said: “No matter where you are in the world or in life, you can always #FollowYourDream. We're so proud of Campbell for the courage and hard work he put into this #DanceForHope #LordOfTheDance video!”

Campbell’s mum, Denise McBride said: “We had seen the cast of the Lord Of The Dance had created an isolation-themed version of the routine, so Campbell just had to take part. He was so excited when he heard that Michael had seen it and replied - he jumped out of bed and danced around the room.

“He’s loved Michael Flatley since the Riverdance days, but his real passion is Lord Of The Dance. He knows all the moves and even went to see the last show.”

Campell’s video, which sees him perform around his living room, kitchen and garden with a kettle, watering can and broomstick for added entertainment, has been viewed almost 3,000 times, and was also recognised by the official @lordofthedance.

Sarah Gibbs, engagement officer at Teamwork Trust said: “Campbell is a real character and is loved by everyone at Teamwork Trust’s Corby centre – his dancing is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. We have been keeping in touch with all our service-users to help them all through this difficult period, and when we heard he’d created this wonderful video we wanted to help him get a shout out from his idol, Michael. We’re thrilled for him – he’s an inspiration.”
