Calling Wellingborough creatives - here's how to get your cultural idea into a reality with a £3,000 grant

If you have had an idea for a cultural event or creative dream burning in the back of your mind, here's an opportunity to make into reality with up to £3,000 up for grabs.

Made With Many, the team tasked with engaging Wellingborough and Corby with art and culture, want residents to pitch their ideas for events to bring the community together.

If successful, budding creatives will be given support from Made With Many’s Cultivate Seed Programme to develop ideas and deliver new art experiences for people in Wellingborough.

A spokesman said: "Do you have a great idea for a creative or cultural project with the local community in Wellingborough?

"Can you engage people in Wellingborough in an art project or do you have an activity that you would like to develop for your community group?

"We are seeking applications for projects that engage new audiences and support communities that would not usually have access to the arts or culture.

"We are particularly interested in hearing from projects that reach our priority geographic and demographic communities, including the Queensway, Kingsway, Hemmingwell and Castle ward areas.

Made With Many’s Cultivate Seed Programme will link community groups with local artists to work together to create art experiences for the people of Wellingborough.

The spokesman said: "Ideas must engage with the public as audiences, participants or beneficiaries and must be developed with some community consultation or alongside a community group. Successful projects will need to align with Made with Many’s aims and values."

Groups Made With Many would particularly like to hear from include Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities; low-income families; the over 65s; those with disabilities or ill health; and young adults aged between 16 and 24 years of age.

Creative activities across all art forms and craft types that have a public audience - events and workshops - will be supported as will opportunities for people to engage with and or create arts experiences including performances, visits, activities involving museums or libraries (depending on government guidelines), publications and exhibitions showcasing community work.

Ideas for projects based around local identity and or heritage that bring the community together could include community murals, oral history or storytelling projects, where individual artistic work is combined to form a community piece.

Alongside a bespoke package of support for artistic and project development, artists and community groups can apply for up to £3,000 to support a project.
