At the stroke of midnight European time - 11pm in the UK - Britain will finally leave the EU after a eleven-month-long transition period.
The UK voted to leave the EU in 2016 and officially left the trading bloc on January 31 2020, but the trade deal signed on Christmas Eve will start on December 31 2020.
People across the north Northamptonshire's three constituencies voted to leave the EU. In Corby and East Northants 64.2 per cent said yes to leaving; 61 per cent of voters in Kettering voted to leave whilst in Wellingborough 62.4 per cent voted to leave.
All three eurosceptic MPs have been instrumental in supporting the Leave campaign with patriotic Philip Hollobone MP for Kettering, often wearing seen campaigning in his distinctive Union Flag jacket, joined forces with Wellingborough MP Peter Bone and Corby and East Northants MP Tom Pursglove, co-founders of Brexit group Grassroots Out.
From organising their own north Northamptonshire European referendum to hosting a Grassroots Out launch at Kettering Conference Centre with Brexit Party founder Nigel Farage the three MPs worked tirelessly for their cause.
Encouraging teenagers to get out to vote was comedian and actor Eddie Izzard who visited Corby Business Academy.
Nigel Farage's walkabout in Wellingborough town centre was a crowd pleaser as he shared a pint and shook hands with excited locals.
Remain campaigner Lord Andrew Adonis visited the county to debate Brexit with Philip Hollobone in 2016.
Despite a long and drawn out process with many twists and turn in Parliament the Brexit deal was done.
To celebrate Brexit Day on January 31, 2020, dozens of punters at the Rising Sun in Kettering held a 'knees up' with special guest Philip Hollobone pulling pints for the gathered partygoers dressed in red, white and blue.
