Boy pulls out machete while trying to steal quad bike in Wellingborough

He was with another boy at the time and they had both been riding around on a moped before the incident

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a boy is reported to have pulled out a long machete and tried to steal a quad bike from a passer-by.

The incident happened on Monday, April 13, between 4pm and 4.30pm, in Abbey Road, Wellingborough, when a member of the public reported seeing two boys on a blue moped riding up and down the street.

A police spokesman said: "One of the boys is then reported to have pulled out a long machete and attempted to steal a quad bike from a passing man.

"The suspects are described as two boys in dark clothing.

"The boy riding the motorcycle wore a helmet and the passenger wore a dark, hooded jacket with the hood pulled up over his face and a dark-coloured backpack.

"The moped was also seen riding around near Little Morrisons in Kingsway."
