And she continued: “They never ask for a thank you or for recognition, they don't even know the mums they made the hampers for.

Baby Basics provides much-needed essentials and equipment to mothers and families who are unable to provide these items for themselves, including but not limited to teenage mums, people seeking asylum and women fleeing domestic abuse and trafficking.

Baby Basics co-founder Sabrina Oakey said: “Myself and Julie collected our voucher last Tuesday and were completely blown away by the generosity of the gift.

"We both decided to use it straight away to purchase items for our packs as we were running low on donations.

"We feel privileged to have been nominated for the Good Deeds award and want to thank the kind person who decided to choose us for it and the Swansgate Shopping Centre.”

Sabrina added: “When Julie and myself founded the charity nearly 10 years ago we never anticipated the impact that it would have on the community of Northamptonshire.

"Nearly 2,000 starter packs have been given out to families in need thanks to the support of our community.

"Some of the toiletries that we purchased that day were used for an emergency pack that we gave out on Thursday.

"A referral came in urgently for a new mum without a safe place for her baby to sleep, the team were able to complete the pack within a couple of hours as we had all the items in stock thanks to our Swansagte Shopping Centre Good Deeds gift voucher and our incredible team of volunteers.”
