Authorities working together as Travellers arrive in Wellingborough
Travellers have been seen at two locations in the town
Wellingborough Council has said it is working with police and the County Traveller Unit after Travellers arrived in the borough.
A group of Travellers were seen parked up on Eastfield Park in the town last night (Tuesday) but were no longer there this morning.
About five caravans, numerous vehicles and several horses have now arrived at Croyland Park.
Wellingborough Council has published a statement on its website, saying: "We are aware that Travellers have arrived in the borough.
"The council is working closely with the police and the County Traveller Unit and also engaging with parish councils."
A spokesman for Northants Police told this newspaper: "We issued a Section 61 Notice to the encampment in Eastfield Park yesterday and they are now gone.
"We have also issued one to an encampment in Croyland Park.
"As the council have said, we are all working together alongside the CTU to deal with this issue."
The Northants Telegraph has asked the County Traveller Unit for a comment.
