Asda Rushden invites customers to vote for local community groups to receive £500

Three local community groups are celebrating after being shortlisted forAsda Foundation’s digital 'Green Token Giving' vote for a chance to receive a donation of £500.

Rush 2 The Den Youth Club, SERVE and Candocare have all been shortlisted from the Rushden area and are in the running to receive the cash boost with both runners-up receiving £200.

Voting in-store with green tokens was paused during the Covid pandemic but the Asda Foundation has launched a digital version, meaning customers can now vote online from the comfort of their home.

Tracy Morris, Asda Rushden community champion, said: “We are so excited Green Token Giving is back online and really proud to be able to continually support the local charity groups in our area. At Asda, we’re always thrilled when customers chosen good causes benefit from these vital funding boosts and we get to raise awareness of what they do.”

Rush 2 The Den works tirelessly to provide support for local youth groups with varied activities, offering time, structure and guidance to the lives of the young people within our community.

Serve are extending their befriending services, which offers 1:1 volunteers to visit the elderly who are isolated and lonely within our community, building valued relationships.

Candocare Co-operative CIC offer day care for adults with dementia, enabling much needed respite for families struggling with this illness.

Customers have until the end of July to vote and groups will receive their donations in August to September after the online votes have been counted.

In 2021, Asda Foundation is committed to giving more than £1m to thousands of local good causes in the heart of Asda communities through digital Green Token Giving.

Customers now can vote online for their favourite good cause at www.asda.com/green-tokens.
