Appeal to find good Samaritan in Kettering who intervened to stop assault of mum and children

Police officers are appealing for a ‘good Samaritan’ who intervened to stop an assault in Kettering town centre to get in touch.

The incident took place on Tuesday, September 2 between midday and 12.30pm when a white man with braided dreadlocks approached a woman and her children as they walked on a footpath behind St Peter and St Paul Church, putting them in fear for their safety.

A female member of the public stepped in to prevent the incident escalating and officers are appealing for her to contact them as a matter of urgency to assist with their investigation.

A Northants Police spokesman said: “In addition to tracing the member of the public, officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, which involved a white man with braided dreadlocks. He was wearing a blue hat, grey tracksuit and white trainers.
