Anna’s Pink Tractor inches closer to £20,000 target as fundraising continues for Dementia UK

Anna Griffiths’ fundraising efforts for Dementia UK using her little pink tractor has continued over the summer, with hopes to hit the £20,000 mark by the end of 2026.

After impressing at Ringstead Horse Show this month, Anna’s restored 1959 Ford Dexta will be heading to the Blakesey Show this Saturday, before a return trip to Marston’s Steam Show in August.

Currently the total amount raised for Dementia UK, a charity Anna holds close after losing two grandparents to the condition, sits at £19,125.49, which Anna said is ‘astonishing’.

Anna said: “It’s going really really well. I’m hoping by the end of the year we’ll do £20,000, definitely.

“I was astonished, I knew we were getting close to £19,000 which is a lot of money to the charity, so it’s still sinking in about how much we’ve done just by doing what we love the most.

“The fact that you can fundraise doing something you love is a win-win. You don’t see it as a task, it’s still a hobby.”

Anna, who is originally from Barton Seagrave but now based in Ringstead, took on the task of rebuilding and redecorating a 1956 Ford Dexta over a two-year period with her partner Andrew and his 84-year-old grandad Vic Morris during the pandemic.

Over the course of its fundraising journey, the tractor has been in the presence of the stars, as multiple cast members from the TV series Clarkson’s Farm have been seen supporting her efforts, with Jeremy Clarkson himself the only one yet to sit atop the vintage tractor, something Anna is hoping will be remedied in the future.

Anna added: “Everyone has driven it now, apart from Jeremy, so I think my end of year mission is to get Jeremy on it. I might ask Lisa, ‘if I hit £20,000 can Jeremy drive it please?”
